Similar to my engine data spreadsheet, here's one I did with basic car data. 0-60, 1/4 mile, top speed, weight etc. It started years ago comparing my Alfa with other 2.5l saloons of the same age, but has evolved to include 2312 cars total. It's far from comprehensive, but I'm rather proud :)

I have a spreadsheet that I keep track of gas mileage for all of our cars on. It's like a custom version of Fuelly but more in-depth since it tracks the tires, oil, season, gas used (E0 vs E10), and other things

I've been meaning to do something like that with my Alfa. Like a 'complete cost of ownership deal', with tax, insurance, MOT, fuel, oil, coolant, parts, repair costs, tyres etc.

I started it, but I've been slacking recently :S

Can I ruin your day? Spoiler alert: it costs more than you think

That is actually VERY cool. You can make some awesome calculations and find interesting trends. I love data

EDIT: My car is there! Is the 370z on the engine data the nismo model?

Me too :) I started going through it all knocking out the 'bhp' tacked onto the ends of the numbers etc. but it was taking an absolute age.

I think the 370Z is the base car. If you've got the data for the Nismo model I'll pop it in :)

I got far enough to spot that :)

What was interesting is I did a couple of formulae to calculate fuel costs per month based on my estimated mileage, estimated mpg and fuel costs. The difference between 25mpg and 30mpg is sod all. Insurance even moreso.

Hell, even driving a V12 Jaguar XJS would only cost me £100 more a month than my Alfa. Make my own lunches at work and I'd probably recoup half of that :)

Oh right on. My 06 LGT cost me about $0.60/mi when it was all said and done and close to $28/day to own, insure, and drive. When you try to 'save' money on a car, you can easily find much more money in cell phone plans, cable tv, and eating out for lunch/dinner that is wasted

Those spreadsheets remind me of the spreadsheets I'm working on in my spare time; a compilation of Subaru information. Chassis codes, engines and specs, transmissions and specs, and much more are all part of the plan. I can already tell that it is going to be a huge undertaking, but it should be fun doing all of that research.

Cool :) I've got another with more in-depth info about the 200 or so cars I really like, but nothing quite as in-depth as chassis codes and that. Impressed :)

Nice! Yeah I ended up making scripts to go through csv data the easiest since it takes forever to do things by hand.

I don't have it yet, as the vehicle is pretty new still. But I will be getting it dynoed pretty soon hopefully. Are the numbers you have to the wheels? And what kind of dyno was used? Is there mechanical loss correction? The 330 number is very high as that is what Nissan claims to the crank.

Ah cool. All the data is factory-reported crank horsepower, although I do have a much smaller spreadsheet with details about our fleet in. That's got some whp figures for the white cammed 106 GTi, and I'm hoping to get some more when I finally get round to testing a couple of them.

In that case, here is the info for mine:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Which is a 2013 nismo. If I get the dyno soon, I'll make sure to shoot it your way as well!
